Cub Scout Paper Bag/Envelope Book

This is a very theme specific paper bag/envelope album that I made for my son.  I will be giving him this at his Arrow of Light ceremony next week ... he hasn't seen it yet!  

Front cover hosts his council patch and a ribbon around the outer edge of the book because it's so full it doesn't close properly.

A journaling tag tucked in the envelope, the bottom is his whittling chip badge & the photo that is tucked in the pocket contains a knot that my son tied.

Photos attached to pages, a photo in the pocket with a photo on both sides...one side is his first Pinewood Derby, the other side is his last Pinewood Derby

The square piece on the left has journaling on it and gets tucked in the flap. The other side is  more journaling and some cub scout stickers

This flip flap cascade will hold all of his rank badges (the others are still currently on his uniform)

First Paper Bag Album

I created this paper bag album using craft paper and teal embellishments.  This one was made for my daughter. I have yet to add pictures to it.

This was SUCH a fun album to put together!  All pages are made using paper bags adhered to a custom made binding, and attached at different parts of the spine.

Gift Card Holder

I vendored a crop this past weekend and this gift card holder was one of the classes that I taught.  There was interest in recreating more at home so here's my tutorial. I tried to take as many pictures and be as clear as I could be.  I hope it all makes sense!

Cut a double sided piece of paper to 7 1/2 " x 10" 

(really it can be any size you want, it's all about the folding)

Fold the paper in half (top to bottom)

Open it back up and fold it the other way.  You'll now have 4 windows

Place the paper so the shorter side is in front of you.  Take your scissors and cut along the horizontal line just until you meet where the vertical line is.

Fold the top right corner down until it meets the vertical line.

Fold the bottom left corner up  but leave about 3/4" -1" from the fold line  

**DO NOT FOLD IT TO THE CREASE**

 Fold the bottom right window over to the left side

Turn the paper over

Fold the bottom right corner even with the fold that you made on the other side

Turn the paper over 

Fold the bottom left window onto the top left window.

Flip the triangle on the top right corner to the other side

Fold right flap onto left flap

Staple the edge and tie ribbon on the staples

**You can also use adhesive to hold it together, just use a small amount on the edge where the staples are.  You can also use washi tape to cover the edge as well**

I added a piece of the zip strip from the paper across to cover where the two papers meet

 Cut a piece of white paper to 3" x 4"

Ink the edges, stamp your sentiment and add a ribbon (I stapled mine but you can punch a hole & tie the ribbon on too)

If you're going to put the gift card in the front pocket, make sure to seal the bottom because it's open and the gift card will fall out.  I placed my gift card in the back pocket and put the tag in the front pocket

 The back pocket is hidden behind the tag
